Did you know?

The star pickle

The very last French pickles are grown in the Yonne. Faced with tough competition from the low prices from Indian and Chinese producers, the descendant of the cucumber is still going strong here thanks to a handful of brave Burgundian farmers.

What is their strategy when faced with the competition from Asia? They are focussing on top quality and upmarket products. This strategy is paying off, because even the chef for the French President is a fan of these pickles!
