Culture and heritage

Burgundy invites you to come and explore a remarkable historic heritage, where each church and château is even more elegant than the last. Not-to-mention the museums and other places to visit that showcase the many treasures of the region.

Walks and bike rides

For a long time, Burgundy has been a favourite destination for walkers and hoards of pilgrims on their way from Vézelay to Nevers. Today, there are 6,000 km of trails, from short walking tours, to the long "Grande Randonnée" (GR) trails. By bicycle, the Tour of Burgundy by bike is also a great way to explore the region along the 800 km of cycle paths. There are also other routes to try out: the Voie Bleue cycle route, the Greenway cycle route from Chalon-sur-Saône to Mâcon, among others.

Craftsmanship and savoir-faire

The originality of Burgundy can also be seen through the local craftsmanship, from Puisaye pottery to faience from Digoin and Nevers. These traditional art professions are still very much alive thanks to the passionate craftspeople and workers who are always delighted to pass on their techniques in various courses and lessons. Another way to experience this fascinating world is to purchase the objects that have been created down to the last meticulous detail.
