Plunge into the heritage of Gray

Your exploration of Gray starts at the remarkable Town Hall. This iconic building from the Renaisssance period of Franche-Comté stands next to bourgeois mansions, setting the tone for the upper part of the town. Take the opportunity to visit the Notre-Dame Basilica to admire the magnificent tree of Jesse, the sculptures done by Grandgirard and the remarkable organ. Just a stone's throw away, inside the royal château, the Baron Martin Museum displays artworks ranging from Antiquity to the early 20th century.

The sumptuous Italian-style theatre of Gray

What better than a delicious meal on the banks of the Saône? Head for the Restaurant La Plage for a meal of good home cooking.

For gourmets, the Mastroquet invites you to try its specialities while enjoying a panoramic view over the river Saône and the stone bridge, or on the terrace of the garden side. The restaurant Le Cratô, in the heart of the town, offers a unique culinary experience combining good local produce and a spirit of togetherness.

For heritage lovers, try the restaurant la Prévôté. Inside a 16th-century private mansion, you'll enjoy a timeless experience in the beautiful dining room featuring a fireplace.

Day 1 - afternoon amid nature

Along the river Saône

Go aboard the Audacieux for an alternative exploration along the Saône! This trip with commentary takes you through a lock and the passionate skipper will tell you the history of the town of Gray and all its little anecdotes.

Cycling along the Saône riverbank

For the more adventurous, go cycling along the "Voie Bleue",  a riverside itinerary stretching for more than 700 kilometres between Lyon and Luxembourg. The promise of a safe trip with family or friends in a lush green setting.

In Nantilly, travel back in time to the 19th century by spending a night in this château set in beautiful grounds full of trees and flowers. You'll find this 18th-century château on the banks of the Saône in Rigny, standing in magnificent English gardens, perfect for recharging your batteries during your stay.

Plunge into the 15th century at the Maison Royale, a fortified manor house and listed Historical Monument, which invites you to stay for a while in Pesmes, officially one of the most beautiful villages of France!

Day 2 – 100% local tastings

A Road-Trip to meet local producers

Prepare for an authentic gourmet road-trip to meet the local producers of the Gray Valley!

First stop: the Brasserie de la Rente Rouge. Beer enthusiast? Or just curious about the brewing profession? Head for Chargey-lès-Gray to learn more about the production stages, taste the different beers and, above all, take some home!

Then, go to Battrans to meet Aurélie and Julien, organic dairy farmers. Here's your chance to chat with them about their work and stock up on fresh produce! For a pleasant final touch, head for Cresancey to visit a goat farm, the Chèvrerie de la Tenise and try their delicous cheeses!

Day 2 – In the heart of the Ognon valley
