At the Domaine Alain Geoffroy in Beine, you are invited to come and discover the famous Chablis on a tasting at the estate. You’ll have the chance to visit the museum of the grapevine and bottle opener, where you’ll learn all about how winegrowers lived in the past.

The ultimate museum to understand the terroir
Your great escape in the land of wine inevitably includes a trip to the new Burgundy wine centre, the Cité des Climats & Vins de Bourgogne which opened its doors in spring 2023. After this visit you’ll know all there is to know about the famous “Climats of the Burgundy vineyard”.
This term has nothing to do with the weather! It refers to a parcel of vines recognised for its quality (geology, exposure, etc.), first identified centuries ago by the Cistercian monks who contributed substantially to the development of the Burgundy vineyard, much to the delight of wine enthusiasts!
These parcels hold the key to wines that resemble no other. No less than 1,247 climats feature on the UNESCO World Heritage list!

The Cité des Climats & Vins de Bourgogne is in fact 3 wine centres rolled into one, each located in one of Burgundy’s great vineyards, in Beaune, the region’s wine capital, Mâcon and Chablis. Thanks to the wide variety of activities available, both connoisseurs and novices can enjoy:
- an immersive tour experience
- wine-tasting sessions for beginners
- guided tours for children and adults
- afterwork sessions on various themes to stimulate the senses
- workshops for adults and children
all against the backdrop of Le Petit Pontigny, a Cistercian medieval cellar to which modern architectural features have been added.

Auxerre, Town of Art and History
It’s not possible to come to the Yonne without visiting Auxerre. There are superb views of the river Yonne from the town and cathedral, and this town is particularly beautiful in autumn when the blazing autumn colours are everywhere and reflect onto the waters.
