Built between 1450 and 1460 for Philip the Good - at the same time as the Ducal residence - the tower is reminiscent of Dijon's prestigious medieval past under the reign of the great Valois Dukes. The plans of the palace were drawn by an architect from Lyon named Jean Poncelet.
Forty-six meters (about 150 ft) high, with seven floors, the tower has an unusual trapezoid shape because its subfloor lies on even older historical ruins...
Note: tours are not recommended for pregnant women or people with limited mobility (316 steps, no lift)
