The village of Moloy has many water sources. In fact, many fountains like this one can be seen in the streets. It was the explorations of Abbé Jean-Baptiste Paramelle around 1848 that led to the discovery of an abundant spring in the Combe d'Ologne area. According to this learned hydrogeologist, the spring was about 5 metres deep. The research was fruitful and allowed the water to be tapped in order to supply the whole village with drinking water from 1850.
