Promenade des Halles
An avenue of plane and lime trees (unique in Europe) planted from 1771. It extends over a length of 985 meters. Listed in the Inventory of Historical Monuments in 1932. The word "Halles" must be taken here in the sense that it had in old French, that is to say, of hated land, dried out, burnt by the sun. Its name is therefore quite natural: it is the Promenade des terres hâlées.
At the end of this majestic walkway, there is a beautiful view of the confluence of the rivers and the Saint-Léger-des-Vignes dam. Nearby, the "Stade Nautique" leisure centre.
