Le Bec d'Allier, site WWF
A fabulous site, the first classified Panda Fluvial Site in France since 2005, where you can admire the marriage of the waters of the Loire and the Allier. The natural environments of this site: sandbanks, alluvial forest, meadows and moors host a great diversity of animals and plants. To appreciate the beauty of the place, we can't advise you enough to go to the panorama of Marzy, to cross the Loire bridge, then to Gimouille, to take the path of the "Passeur", with its educational terminals and its observation points fitted out at the edge of the shore. Don't miss the hamlet of Bec d'Allier in the commune of Guétin, a typical old village of bargemen. It is built behind a dyke on which you can see the rings that were used to moor futreaux and gabares
