From February 20 to March 30, 1944, twenty Resistants came from Auxois and lived in this cave which has three rooms. They lit with acetylene lamps, while sometimes at night, they lit a stove whose smoke escaped through a crevasse. The supply was ensured by the inhabitants of Lusigny-sur-Ouche, Grandmont and Ecutigny. The area srub was surrounded on March 30th, 1944, and ten young resistance fighters were killed. A monument was erected in their memory at the junction of the road from Beaune and Echarnant. It is not possible to visit the cave.
