The Courtines reach is mentioned for the first time in the 12th century, without a precise date. Its construction method is unknown. Its name comes from its course, which goes from one part of the ramparts (or courtine) to another. Washhouses and footbridges are found along its course. It has also been used to power several mills. There are several benches along the reach.
