During a one-hour walk between Couhard and the Montmain sheepfold, you will cross the Montmain forest. During this walk, you will discover the species of trees in the forest. Use the "find the intruder" game to check off the species on your route.
This trail was created by the CM2 class from the Bouteiller school as part of an Educational Land Area.
Departure point: Couhard stone car park.
This itinerary begins with an approach walk along the road that climbs to the top of the village of Couhard as far as the inn.
Cross the road and head uphill. Walk past the last two houses before the forest; the start of the path is about 50 metres away. The trail is just under 1 km long and features around twenty different species of tree. It ends at the Montmain sheepfold. You can return either via the Brisecou waterfall or the goat path and then the 3 weasels path, which leads back to the start of the botanical trail. A paper brochure, with a game on the back for children, is available from the Autun tourist office.
