During this walk, you'll discover the many different species of trees thanks to the "Find the intruder" game.
You'll cross the Montmain forest, identifying and ticking off the tree species along the way.
This trail was created by the CM2 class from the Bouteiller school in Autun, with the CPIE de Bourgogne, as part of the "Aire Terrestre Educative" project.
The starting point is the Couhard stone car park.
This itinerary begins with an approach walk on the road that climbs to the top of the village of Couhard as far as the inn.
Cross this road and continue across the road. Then walk past the last two houses before the forest. The start of the path is about 50 metres further on.
The trail is just under 1 km long and features around twenty different species of tree. It ends at the Montmain sheepfold.
You can return either via the Brisecou waterfall, the goat path or the 3 weasels path, which leads back to the start of the botanical trail.
A paper brochure with the "Find the intruder" game is available from the Autun Tourist Office.
