From Monts Chevreuil and de la Fâ, the view hugs the Val Lamartinien. Alternating with the wine-growing landscapes dotted with typical Mâcon hamlets, the oak woodland-charmaie forests, calcicole grasslands with teppes orchids and boxwoods of Mont Chevreuil are home to protected flora. The 14th-century Château d'Escolles, burnt down in 1576, is a reminder of the turbulent period of the Wars of Religion.
