The evening is based on the unique career of percussionist Florent Jodelet, soloist with the Orchestre National de France and an insatiable explorer of unexplored musical horizons. He is also an insatiable explorer and discoverer of unexplored musical horizons, often through exceptional musical and human encounters.
This concert, in two parts, is the story of two such encounters: on the one hand, the great Indian percussionist Manjunath B.C., an extraordinary musician and virtuoso rhythm player from the great musical tradition of southern India, and on the other, the astonishing pianist and harpsichordist Ninon Hannecart-Ségal, discovered at Cluny during the opening concert of the 2023 Festival.
The first part features pieces by Jean Pierre Drouet and Manjunath B.C. It's a journey back and forth between two worlds, two cultures, two great traditions.
The second part features Iannis XENAKIS's legendary piece Komboï, for amplified harpsichord and percussion. It will be accompanied by François-Bernard MÂCHE's Anaphores.
