Faïencerie Georges
Faïencerie Georges: two green knots since 1898! Carole Georges and Jean-François Dumont are carrying on the family tradition for the fourth generation. Entirely manufactured and decorated in their workshop, each piece is the result of the heritage of know-how that has made Nevers earthenware famous: modelling the clay, firing the biscuit at 1,060°C, enamelling, decorating on raw enamel and firing in the grand feu. Whether it is by updating old pieces from a century-old collection or by choosing a more contemporary treatment of shapes and decorations, Carole and Jean-François are constantly renewing the tradition. The signature of the modeller, a knot engraved in the clay, and that of the decorator, two green knots, certify the originality of each earthenware piece produced in the Georges earthenware workshop.
