The origins of the Climats, the origins of the Clos, the historical figures who contributed to the fame of Volnay wine - these are just some of the emblematic names of Burgundy's vineyards that you'll discover on this 2-hour guided tour. Two wines from the village will be tasted at the end of the tour.
Volnay is a highly symbolic point of reference for visitors, the curious, neophytes and wine-lovers alike, when it comes to the three essential concepts of the Burgundy wine region: the Clos, the Climats and the hierarchy of crus. The local AOC has a special reputation, renowned for the delicacy of its red wines, but are they exactly that? It is also the only AOC in Burgundy to have 10 parcels of land, all of which are now 1er Crus and still monopolies, including four that were part of the Dukes' castellany...
