This museum retraces the Second World War from 1939 to 1945, the Resistance among railway workers and the memory of the victims.
This museum, attached to the Federation Museum of National Resistance, was conceived and created by former resistance fighters and children of resistance fighters.In this place, rich of objects having belonged to the resistants or used during the period going from the declaration of war in 1939 to the Liberation in 1944, one finds many visual supports, elements illustrating the difficulties of the life under the occupation, the yellow star carried by the Jews or the dress of a deportee of the camp of Mathausen and many historical objects.On sale, the book by Jean Claude Martinet entitled "L'histoire de l'occupation et de la Résistance dans la Nièvre" (The history of the Occupation and the Resistance in the Nièvre), a reference that served as a guide for the creation of this museum.
