Visiting the chapel of Vauguillain

Just above Joigny the Chapel of Vauguillain stands tall and proud. This castle chapel used to be part of a fortress that was built in the 12th century. Nowadays, only a few metres of the upper ramparts are still visible.

Make the most of this setting straight out of a medieval film to enjoy the view over the plains, forests and surrounding villages.

Walk in Joigny town centre

Joigny centre features mainly raised houses with 16th-century timber framing. Some of the building facades are decorated with real works of art sculpted into the wood.

Joigny is also known for attracting artists who come to take inspiration from this Burgundy town. The favourable climate and restful setting appeal to residents and tourists alike!
