During the night of March 19 to 20, 1943, a Lysander aircraft landed in Melay on the banks of the Loire. It deposited three great figures of the French resistance: Jean Moulin, General Delestraint and Christian Pineau. It was their last return from London. A stele was erected on the site of this landing in 1990 to commemorate the event.
