Square Jean-Cousin
Created at the end of the 19th century, this garden contains a number of rare or remarkable trees and shrubs dating from the original planting (forty-crore tree, tulip tree, oriental plane tree, horse chestnut tree, purple beech, Lawson cypress, weeping sophora, Dutch lime tree). Profusely flowered, it perpetuates the technique of mosaiculture. All the old bedding plants can be found here (variegated tobacco, datura, lantana, heliotropes, banana trees, alocasias, balisiers) and stand side by side with the bright colours of begonias, sage, tagetes, impatiens and other flowering plants.
