Sculpture de Maxime Descombin - Les Portes

Maxime Descombin was born in Le Puley in 1909. This self-taught sculptor began his career as a stonemason.
The serial sculpture "Les Portes", presented in his native village thanks to the local authorities, was conceived by the sculptor in 1961 and completed in 2023 as a tribute to him. As you contemplate this work, you should also admire the material from which it was sculpted. It is made of Puley stone, which has become rare these days.
