Roger de Piles

Roger de Piles was born in Clamecy in 1636 and died in 1709. Diplomat, traveller, historian, he was also a painter and art critic. His writings can be consulted in their original edition at the Scientific and Artistic Society of Clamecy. His only known painting for the moment is exposed in the museum of Clamecy.
