Musee des forges

The memory of places preserved in their historical, technical and social dimensions. The former workshops house a museum. The collection presents machines and tools (secateurs, pincers, hammers,...). The layout of the site resembles that of the forges of Baudin (near Sellieres), inspired by the paternalistic spirit. The residence of the master of the forges adjoins the workmen's quarters and the gardener's house. Built on a U-shaped plan and redesigned in the 18th century, its architecture is inspired by the precepts of Nicolas Ledoux.
