Mémorial

On 16 November 1940, General De Gaulle created the Order of Liberation to salute the commitment of these often anonymous heroes.
The Memorial, located in Buxy in the centre of the Saône et Loire, was erected in homage to the 12 companions of the Liberation born in Saône-et-Loire.
What a pride for our village to count among the 1038 companions of the liberation, Mr Paul Grenier, born on 21 November 1914 in Buxy and who died in military service on 4 May 1945. This memorial will bring to life the collective memory.
