This statue of Caesar, installed on a concrete base at the Misset Boulevard roundabout, is made up of welded bronze elements representing a standing man with a 6-metre wingspan. Its weight is 6 tons.
This work was commissioned under an agreement signed in December 1985 between the Centre national des arts plastiques and the Nièvre department. The monument, financed for the most part by the State, with a participation of the General Council of Nièvre, was installed in Clamecy in July 1987 and inaugurated in the presence of President François Mitterrand on July 9, 1987.
