Le Tunnel du Bois Clair
The Bois Clair tunnel is a former railway tunnel and is the longest tunnel in France now open to a Voie Verte (1.6 km). Fully lit, it takes 4 to 6 minutes to go through on a bike, 6 to 10 minutes on rollerblades and 15 to 20 minutes on foot.
The temperature is around 11° C.
This tunnel is home to protected species of bats, so it is closed during the hibernation period (October to April).
In 2023, the reopening is postponed to mid-May due to lighting works.
An itinerary to bypass the tunnel is then proposed by taking the loop n°14 (4km level: expert)
A picnic area is located upstream of the tunnel when you arrive via Cluny.
