This mansion was built at the beginning of the 18th century by Jacques Delaporte, Lord of Marnay, who added two wings between 1749 and 1755. In 1759, it became the property of the de Senecé family
The Académie de Mâcon, a cultural association, bought the Hôtel Senecé in 1896. It is the current owner and organizes conferences, exhibitions or any other intellectual event in the reception rooms. The gallery L'Envoûtée, located in the vaulted cellars, can be rented for exhibitions
The members of the Academy have the mission to promote the intellectual and architectural heritage. To this end, the libraries are open on Tuesdays and guided tours of the Hôtel Senecé are organised on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
