Founded in 1237 in the Venouse area, the barn, which depended on the Cistercian abbey of Pontigny, nestles in a still intact site overlooking the Serein valley and the abbey. This barn was directly exploited until the 14th century by lay brothers, then by farmers until the Revolution. Sold in April 1791 as a national asset, the estate retained its agricultural and pastoral vocation until 1995. Created in 1996, the Association Grange de Beauvais is mobilized to save and revive the site. It has undertaken its restoration through youth and volunteer workcamps and offers some occasional activities.
