The play, written by Pauline Peyrade, is based on a dramaturgy borrowed from the way we surf the Internet;
opening successive windows, moving from one content to another, from a private conversation to a newspaper article, from video content to a musical recording...
to a music recording...
At first glance, Ctrl X is a piece that could be described as technological. We see it as an innovative algorithm
waiting for a machine capable of making it work at full speed. This is the power of writing, in that it requires very little technology. What about its transposition to the stage? Is it possible to render the elaborate system of Ctrl X without using heavy technology? If this question seems technical, it's because Ctrl X is definitely not a play like any other. Continuing this pattern of successive links, it reveals an infinite space where all the echoes of the world can collide. In this way, Ctrl X poses a real question for us as creators. It asks us about our ability to strip a system bare and let life in without compromising the vitality of that same system.
