The fiefdom of the Lake, attested to from the 15th century, was probably a land detached from the lordship of Anzy (owned by the monks), but remained under its suzerainty. The former seigniorial castle is a 17th century building, which was restored in the 19th century by Louis Goin in the neo-gothic style with its window lintels with braces, its battlements at the top of the walls and its slender tower topped with a pepperpot roof. Louis Goin was then one of the richest cattle farmers in the region (landowner who fattened and traded Charolais cattle).
