Galloping to the Château de Bougey
For the past five years, the Amicale du 11ème Chasseurs de Vesoul, led by its president Gilbert Blanc, has been organising exhibitions on military themes at the Château de Bougey in Haute-Saône. Each time, the owners of the site, Evelyne and Jean Guyot de Saint Michel, present items from their personal collections: previously unpublished archive documents, as was the case in 2020 to illustrate the invasions of 1814-1815, objects from excavations collected in a professional capacity in 2021, or items from their personal research, on Indochina in particular in 2022.
This year, the Amicale du 11ème chasseurs is once again presenting an exhibition on the cavalry, richly illustrated with documents, archives, uniforms, period objects and more.
To round off the exhibition, the ASCB (Association pour la Sauvegarde du Château de Bougey) and the owners are proposing "Le Cheval et l'Homme" (The Horse and Man), a friendly, family-friendly theme showing the evolution of the animal over time and its "partnership" with man in a wide range of fields: agriculture, transport, communications, sports, leisure, games/festivities, medicine, food, etc.
Numerous activities will be on offer throughout the exhibition for young and old alike.
