ARCADE is an association founded in 1986 for the restoration of the Château de Sainte Colombe, part of which was in ruins. Thanks to the help of institutional partners who partially subsidize the restoration, ARCADE has organized and supervised volunteer workcamps and international school camps.
Currently, the rehabilitation of the site is continuing while developing cultural activities.
ARCADE works to promote design and crafts as a means of education and training.
ARCADE organises two major exhibitions on an annual theme, which are presented in the castle:
- The spring exhibition is developed from a family of objects
- The summer and autumn exhibitions bring together the creations of some fifty internationally renowned designers as well as the creations of industrialists, designers and craftsmen from the region.
A permanent work is visible at the Château de Sainte-Colombe-en-Auxois, that of Bertrand Lavier representing a detail of the Piazza San Marco in Venice. Within the framework of the New Sponsors action supported by the Fondation de France, the Consortium of Dijon put in relation ARCADE and the artist Bertrand Lavier for the realization of a permanent work in the castle of Sainte-Colombe-en-Auxois; the work, inaugurated in June 2012, is articulated around the concept of the crossings of influences.
