Created in 1796 in order to conserve the files of the different administrations, the former system and ecclesiastical institutes, they collect, conserve, classify and communicate to people the files of every public service in Haute-Saône, they also receive private funds. Today, the files are recorded in a 12 km area, which means millions of documents.
The Regional Records are committed in cultural action with exhibitions, publications and other demonstrations about history and Haute-Saône heritage. The educational service proposes to students and their teachers local history work group.
