The origins of the church of Saint-Pierre d'Auxy date back to the 12th century; it has undergone many changes since then: the first restoration was carried out in 1685, and others were carried out in the 1780's. In 1875, following the collapse of the bell tower, a rectangular tower was built next to the front wall; it supports the current bell tower. The porch and gallery date from this period. According to Canon Grivot, four of the six sculpted capitals are derived from those in Autun Cathedral.
