This massive church is perched 300m above the village of Metz-le-Comte.
Built on the site of the former chapel of a castle, Notre Dame de l'Assomption was built in the Romanesque style in the 12th century, partly rebuilt in the 13th century and remodelled around 1500.
The church is built on a rectangular plan, with a two-storey bell tower pierced by germinated bays and a lauze roof that drains into wooden gutters.
The church is listed as a Historic Monument.
