The village of Bissy-sur-Fley is situated on a gently sloping hillside, facing south-west, at an altitude of 400m. The old Burgundian houses are grouped around the 11th - 12th century Romanesque church and the castle where the great humanist Pontus de Tyard lived. The view extends over the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise and the Charolais meadows.
The parish church of Bissy-sur-Fley is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin and is listed as a Historic Monument. It has an 11th century nave, a 15th century seigniorial chapel, a choir and a modern bell tower.
