Eglise de Curbigny

The sculpted decoration shows an astonishing unity of inspiration and style. Strange little figures, with small bodies and large heads, swarm on the capitals of the choir. This type of figure can be found in the apse and on the external modillions that support the cornice. These grimacing sculptures seem to evoke the pagan world before its conversion.
