Producers and quality craftsmen at the culinary college of France since 2018, Le GAEC des Bien Vivants, are three partners, three childhood friends and three bon vivants from Champagne and Charolais by adoption: Cécile JACOB, Matthieu HENNION and Etienne CACHEUX.
All three have been trained in the four facets of their job as goat farmers and cheesemakers: raising goats; processing milk into cheese; marketing products; and managing their company, the GAEC des Bien Vivants.
In addition to the donkey, dogs, cats, chickens and other small animals... they raise 160 goats at the Ferme des Bien Vivants.
They work in a "reasoned" way, with respect as a key word and a permanent concern for the coherence of their agricultural practices. This is why the well-being of the animals, the quality of their food, the respect of the seasons and of nature are for them obvious and fundamental requirements.
They will be happy and eager to show you their way of working, to explain their choices, the beauties and the difficulties of their job. The best way to know what you are eating is to come and see the farm and taste the products!
Farm discovery :
- You can come and visit the goat farm freely during the opening hours of the cheese factory, except on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the afternoon (reserved for guided tours).
- Guided tour of the goat farm and cheese dairy with one of the farmers for individuals and groups. Enjoy an unforgettable experience in a good mood! Cuddle with the goats, learn how to milk by hand, ... an immersion in nature to learn, understand and relax! Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4:30 pm, from February 15th to November 15th (45 to 60 minutes). Reserve your places by phone or email so that the breeding of goats in the Charolais will no longer hold any secrets for you!
For groups, a tasting of the farm's products will bring the educational visit to a close.
