Opened in 1988, the museum exhibits documents and artefacts that bear witness to the work of the Resistance in the region. It is dedicated to the resistance of the local railway workers. The museum is packed with objects that once belonged to members of the Resistance, as well as visual aids illustrating the difficulties of life under the Occupation, the yellow star worn by Jews, the uniform worn by a deportee and a host of historical objects...
The most accurate sources are : Martyrologie de la Déportation et l'internnement Nivernais by André Piaut, and Histoire de la Résistance et de la Déportation dans la Nièvre by Jean-Claude Martinet. A study room is available for schools and researchers.
