Musée archéologique Jean Régnier - Grenier à sel

Built in the 17th century, at the top of Mont-Saint-Vincent, the salt storehouse was used to store and redistribute salt to some forty parishes in the region. It was the place where justice was served for all disputes concerning the salt tax, the gabelle. Today it houses the Jean Régnier Museum, which presents collections of objects gathered during archaeological excavations carried out in the region by Henri Parriat and Dr Jeannin. The first floor is devoted to Romanesque art.
