Battle Trail

Departure from Place de l'Église at the foot of the Battle Museum.

(D/A) Opposite the restaurant, turn left onto the D1 towards Leugny - Auxerre for 400 m. Leave the cemetery on your right and continue along the right-hand shoulder of the road.

(1) When you reach the industrial buildings on your left, turn right onto the dirt track. Follow the Saint-Bonnet stream and cross it at one point. At the crossroads with a track coming from the left, continue straight on until you reach the next track.

(2) Turn right and climb gently due west, reaching the small road leading to Solmet. To reach the stony track, turn right-left. Join the D3, passing ancient statues on the right.

(3) At the junction with the D3, turn right. The obelisk is on your left.
After learning about the history of this site, take the grassy path on the left and head towards the centre of the village of Fontenoy, passing the Gisants.

(4) Continue downhill to reach the village of Fontenoy (D/A).
