Set between land and water, Saint-Eusèbe overlooks the Canal du Centre, the Bourbince, the Berthaud pond and its reservoir. In 1316, the village took the name of Saint-Eusèbe-des-Bois and a Romanesque church was built in the village, with a cemetery built in a "circulade" style. A local peculiarity is that Montchanin-le-Haut is a hamlet of Saint-Eusèbe and not of Montchanin!
