Before the Tour de Bourgogne cycle route was developed, the region had a number of trails along its canals, as well as greenways built on former railway lines. The "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo" was created in 2003 by linking all these routes together.
You'll embark on a captivating adventure through the hidden treasures of Burgundy.
The picturesque port of Migennes is the starting point for an exploration along the most beautiful canals in Burgundy: the Canal de Bourgogne, the Canal du Nivernais, the Canal latéral à la Loire, the Canal du Centre...
You'll pass through villages such as Nuits-Saint-Georges and those in the Florentinois and Tonnerrois regions, all steeped in authentic charm, with abbeys and Renaissance châteaux dotting the landscape from time to time.
You'll head for the heights of Mont-Auxois, offering breathtaking views of the Burgundy mountains.
You'll descend to the valley of the forty locks, a testament to human ingenuity.
You'll enjoy relaxing breaks on the banks of Lake Kir and other lakes.
You'll discover the "voie des vignes" through the prestigious Clos de Vougeot and explore the rustic charm and history at the former mining centre of Montceau-les-Mines, and the spa town of Bourbon-Lancy.
Don't miss the majestic Château de Saint-Aubin-sur-Loire before continuing your journey to the port of Saint-Thibault. A true Burgundy odyssey.
