EuroVelo 6 is a European cycle route forming part of a vast development project. Covering a distance of 4,450 km in its entirety, it links France and Romania. Crossing Central Europe, the route runs from the western Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea, following the course of three of the continent's largest rivers. The cycle route crosses ten countries in all.

You'll begin your journey along the Saône, as far as the boating town of St-Jean-de-Losne, where the river's atmosphere permeates every alleyway.
You'll cross the majestic bridge over the Canal du Centre, offering spectacular views to the fishermen and yachtsmen who liven up the banks.
You will explore the Beaune and Santenay hills, where the Burgundy hills unveil their prestigious vineyards. A diversion to the former mining centre of Montceau-les-Mines reveals the fascinating remains of the mining and steel industries.
You'll continue your journey along the Bourbince river, discovering the Renaissance château of Digoine and coming across the emblematic Charolais cows.
You cross the canal bridge over the Loire, then follow the Canal Latéral à la Loire through the spa town of Bourbon-Lancy, where the route stretches along an old railway line.
You'll admire the Château de Saint-Aubin-sur-Loire dominating the Bourbonnais mountains, then travel along the Canal du Nivernais, discovering the charming canal town of Decize. You'll explore pastoral landscapes and authentic villages, passing through the Acolin lock, the Fleury-sur-Loire boat stop, and the towpath of the Canal Latéral à la Loire, offering panoramic views of the river and its city of the Dukes of Burgundy.
