Moulins-Engilbert is home to three of the greatest names in trompe-l'oeil (Henri Cadiou, Pierre Gilou and Daniel Solnon), and wanted to promote this aspect of its culture by hosting the "Faites le Mur" festival, dedicated to murals and other urban scenography. This unique encounter with the artists led to the creation of an original route of frescoes along the streets, which was then extended to the surrounding villages.
Don't hesitate to pick up an explanatory booklet from the Tourist Office, which will give you full details of the fifteen or so frescoes in Moulins-Engilbert.
You can even extend the pleasure by visiting the neighbouring villages of Maux, Montaron, Sermages, Préporché, Vandenesse and Villapourçon: in each of them, a fresco awaits you...
We hope you enjoy discovering the world of painting and colour!
