Walk of the Little Fairies

Depart from in front of the church (1). Go up behind the church via the pedestrian path, then turn left. At the crossroads (2)” La Croix Barde” go right for 300m then left up the little lane which crosses fields up to Departmental road 79 (3 – Le Grand Chemin). Turn right, go 100m then turn left into the little lane towards a pretty lake (4 – La Combe au Chien). Common boundary with Curbigny (CU1) as far as Point (5) Trappeloup. Cross the D79, go right then left; the lane borders a field. Go down as far as the back of an old farm, take the lane to the left as far as Point (6) Les Npyers; go left then right; at the top take the lane to the left through underwood as far as Point (7) Combe de Charme.Go right, the lane goes as far as the first houses of the hamlet of Saigne. Take the lane to the left, through underwood, at the top go right, cross the Bois de Chemineau in which was born the legend of les Faillettes (little fairies). When you come out of the woods you can see the village of Varennes and La Clayette. At Point (8) La Croix Blanche, go left between two fields and continue to Point (9) La Vierge du Molet. Go right at Chateau de Grandvaux to return to Le Bourg.
