Le Colombier

Live like a prince during your holiday in Burgundy. Le Colombier is a large family gîte in converted outbuilding of 18th century château of Arcelot. Ground floor: character dining room (traditional décor, inset fireplace) with kitchen area, lounge (TV), bedroom (queen-size bed, own shower room), separate WC. Lovely staircase to upper floors. 1st floor: 4 bedrooms (3 queen-size beds, 2 single beds OR king-size bed), 2 shower rooms/WC. Second floor: bedroom (2 single beds OR king-size bed), lounge/leisure area, shower room/WC, washing machine, bedroom (3 single beds OR king-size bed, single bed). Included in rent: oil-fired heating, firewood, electricity. Extra charge: cleaning at end of stay, provision of bed linen (duvets available, bring fitted sheets, flat sheets and pillow slips, if necessary).|Outdoors: 2 private, enclosed courtyard/garden areas at front and back of gîte (over 1,000 sq.m.). You can also wander freely around the château grounds (45 hectares) with small lake and landscaped garden, one of the first to be created in Burgundy, now a listed historical monument. Be sure to visit the château which has always belonged to the same family, with its large drawing room, chapel, etc. Arcelot 15km from Dijon, capital of Burgundy (classed as city of Artistic and Historical interest): Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, tower of Philippe le Bon, striking churches (Notre-Dame, Saint-Michel and Saint-Bénigne), the Chouette discovery trail, archaeology and fine art museums... Many restaurants including 3 with Michelin star. Dijon is also a lively city with events organised throughout the year. Closest vineyards in Marsannay-la-Côte at start of the Great Wine Route whose 'Climats' now have UNESCO World Heritage status.
