An exceptional visit to a bubble house.
"Building in harmony with nature" is the architectural concept developed in the 1960s.
Set in an old village, this house with its organic forms is a late and partial manifestation of the plastic and technical research begun in the 1960s by designers of sculptural architecture close to nature and by supporters of self-build. Tried and tested by Pascal Haüsermann and Antti Lovag (house at Tourrettes-sur-Loup, 1968) in their many "bubble-house" projects, and by the sculptor Pierre Székely in the projects he carried out with the architect Henri Mouette (Verley house at Sebourg, 1973), the technique of a concrete veil sprayed onto a metal frame is used here only for the roof, the walls being made of breeze blocks. At Fleurey-sur-Ouche, environmental concerns are reflected in the layout of the house, its relationship with the outside world, its water management and its optimal use of solar energy. Built in an old stone quarry, the building adapts to the terrain, with the rooms to the north (bedroom and garage) buried in the slope. Facing south and wide open, the three main volumes (circular in plan) house the kitchen-living room and a bedroom, extended by greenhouses designed as living spaces. In the presence of the owners, the tour will feature a presentation of these unusual and atypical spaces.
