Exhibition of photographic works by Not. Brice as part of the 9th Saperli'poètes festival.
... Sapphô pre-dates the birth of Christ as much as Leonardo da Vinci does our contemporary era. Her time is that of antiquity, infinitely far from us, almost mythological. Only a few complete odes have come down to us, floating amid a tide of poem fragments that bear witness to the thousands of verses that made up her work...
Not. Brice seeks to approach Sapphô of Mytilene, in fragments, through the female bodies present. In the course of his work, through the framing and treatment of the images, he has tried to materialise the afterglow of certain poems, to create images emerging from time whose iconography could take on meaning in its encounter with the author's words. And through this encounter, to bear witness to a Feminine with eternal values
that we would have no choice but to juxtapose with the feminine condition of our time.
For an Eternal Feminine.
