After the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay on 12 July, the Côte-d'Or will be lucky enough to welcome the Paralympic flame to Châtillon-sur-Seine on 26 August.
The flame of the Paralympic Games will shine in Stoke Mandeville, an emblematic city for this sporting event. From there, it will begin an exceptional journey to France via the Channel Tunnel. It will be an historic moment, with a relay involving 24 British athletes and as many French, symbolising the unity and solidarity between nations.
Once in Calais, the flame will be divided into 12 torches that will light up the French territory. From 25 to 28 August 2024, the flame will pass through around fifty towns, including the Côte-d'Or on 26 August, with a special stopover in Châtillon-sur-Seine where two torchbearers, Laura MAHIEU and Michel REGNAULT, will have the honour of carrying the flame. Alain GAUDOT will also be present as a deputy for this exceptional duo.
In addition to the relay, the town will be buzzing to the rhythm of a festival featuring music, sporting activities and entertainment for all the family. It's a time for sharing and conviviality that you won't want to miss!
