Concerts by artists selected as part of a call for applications to identify, support, promote the emergence and renewal of traditional music in Burgundy Franche-Comté and the Centre France cultural area (Cher, India and Allier). The evening's programme will be revealed after the jury's deliberations on 22 March.
NOUVELLE SCÈNE ?
The aim of this operation is to support and encourage the emergence of amateur and professional artists (or those in the process of becoming professionals) on the contemporary traditional and world music scene. It is aimed at groups or soloists from the Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Centre France (Cher, Indre and Allier) cultural area. It is run by the Café Charbon team and is designed to support and accompany one group or soloist per year.
?? A shortlist of 4 groups or solo artists will be selected on the basis of their applications for a live audition on Saturday 4 May on the Café Charbon stage. The 4 selected artists will be offered support with communication (promoting their artistic project) and administration (amateur or professional musician status, procedures).
At the audition on 4 May, a jury will select a group or solo artist to follow the scheme for a year, from June 2024 to June 2025. Throughout the year, the winner will be able to take advantage of residencies, artistic training (stage direction, construction of a concert or ball set, arrangements, choice of repertoire) and technical training (sound engineering, sound and lighting technical specifications), as well as regular meetings to discuss the progress and management of their project. The winner will be programmed as part of the Septembal 2025 festival organised by Café Charbon in partnership with the Association Musiques Traditionnelles du Conservatoire de Nevers.
A 12-MONTH COURSE ??
The "Nouvelle Scène" programme is designed as a progressive, personalised training scheme with an artistic and technical focus. Each group or soloist has its own specific needs, and will be supported with resources and tools provided by Le Café Charbon and its team. A timetable will be drawn up with the artists: training courses, residencies, advice meetings, accompanied rehearsals, etc.
4 May from 8pm to 11pm
